On Saturday Jese is understood to have left the bench before the final whistle and driven away from the bet365 Stadium quickly afterwards.

Jese enjoyed a brilliant start to his time in the Potteries, scoring the winner against Arsenal, but has not found the net again.

He has been dealing with the personal turmoil of caring for his poorly baby back in Spain.

Speaking before the Swansea game, Hughes said Jese would get games over the Christmas period.

He said: 'He's looked good in fairness. I thought he came on against Liverpool and affected the game, which was important for him.

'So he's definitely showing intent that he wants to be back involved.

'We've got a lot of games coming up so that's my intention as well. He needs to play so he will play more of a part than he has in the last three or four weeks.'
