The pair were accused of failing to apply themselves in a pre-game training session led by Duncan Ferguson.
Ferguson was said to be dissatisfied with the players' lack of effort and having suggested an improvement or a departure, they reportedly took the latter option and returned to the dressing room.
Schneiderlin denied any incident but admitted he has a point to prove.Ā
He said: 'I want to turn the page. It was not nice for me to see those reports and it is part of football. I have to deal with it.
'First I read about it in the newspaper. I was as surprised as I could be. There was no incident.
'Since I play football you always have something to prove, that is part of being a player.'
