Manchester City's stars were in understandably high spirits as they warmed up for Wednesday's trip to Swansea with a training session at a chilly Etihad campus.

Pep Guardiola's squad wrapped up in wooly hats and snoods to keep out the cold with City turning their attentions to Swansea following Sunday's derby day victory.

Bernardo Silva was picked up by Brazilian trio Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho and Danilo during one light-hearted moment as the table-toppers trained with a smile on their face.

City secured their 14th successive league win at United, clinching a Premier League record for consecutive victories in a single season in the process.

Guardiola's men are bidding to stretch that run to 15 when they visit Paul Clement's Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, who sit second-bottom of the table.

City angered United with their celebrations after the 2-1 win in the Manchester derby, causing a 30-man brawl to break out in the Old Trafford tunnel.

However Guardiola insisted City's celebrations were not 'anything exceptional' when addressing the incident in his press conference ahead of the Swansea game.

‘When we lose we have to accept the defeat and when we win then celebrate,’ Guardiola said. ‘We celebrated in Napoli - you have to do that. I encourage them and it is what we did.

‘What happened (after) hopefully won’t happen again. The situation at Old Trafford when you go to the home locker room you have to pass the away one, but we were inside celebrating.

‘It wasn’t anything exceptional. It was what we did last season in the past and what we will do in the future. But always we respect our opponents because we go on the pitch.'

City are set to offer their side of the events to the FA on Tuesday with Guardiola maintaining that his side didn't overstep the mark with their celebrations.

The result saw City go 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League as they took a big step towards securing the title in Guardiola's second season in charge.

City are also gunning for success in Europe this campaign and discovered they will face Basle in the last 16 of the Champions League at Monday's draw in Switzerland.
