Gallagher had already enjoyed sitting next to former Manchester United player Gary Neville in the Sky Sports studio for the derby but was over the moon that his songs riled Mourinho.
'It's been amazing,' he said, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
'This is my favourite City team of all time, that can nause up Mourinho that much, by playing my songs in the dressing room, that he goes in and gets his head kicked in by our keeper!
'That has to be the greatest City team of all time!
'It meant everything. To sit in the studio and watch Neville have a meltdown while the match is going on and then to hear that they were playing 'Don't Look Back in Anger' too loud, honestly! I'm done.'

Mourinho stormed out of the home dressing-room to accuse the City squad of showing no respect after hearing their celebrations.
Following an altercation with City's goalkeeper Ederson, Mourinho was hit by a water bottle.
As a result, Manchester United players came out in support of their manager and ended up fighting with City's players.
As many as 30 players and staff were involved in the mass fracas and observations of the incident have been filed by both clubs to the FA.
City continued their unbeaten run on Saturday by thrashing Tottenham 4-1 and Gallagher was pictured with Ilkay Gundogan, who opened the scoring, and former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel posted a photo of the trio on Twitter with the caption: 'Nice evening with @IlkayGuendogan and @Noel Gallagher. #mcitot #mancity #spurs'
