Manchester United and England star Jesse Lingard is dating Instagram model Jena Frumes - and she flew over from Los Angeles to Manchester to help him celebrate his 25th birthday on Friday.

Jena, who has 2.6million followers on her Instagram account, posted a picture wearing a United shirt last week and then an Instagram story together with Lingard during the birthday celebrations.

One picture was of the pair posed up with a birthday cake that featured Lingard in action for United, while another featured Lingard in front of gold balloons that spelt his nickname 'J Lingz.'

Lingard, who hasn't as yet made any mention of Jena on his social media, marked his birthday in style by scoring in United's 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion on Sunday afternoon.

By that time, Jena was back stateside as an Instagram story post suggested she was up at 6.21am to watch the match at The Hawthorns live on her laptop.

Frumes also posted a picture of herself at Old Trafford watching United's 4-0 victory over Everton in September, along with the caption: 'Amazing time at my first ever soccer game yesterday (In U.S. we call it soccer) Exciting win for Manchester United.' 

A source told the Sun Online: 'They've been on some dates, but I don't know if it's serious between them yet. She lives in LA and he's in Manchester so it's hard for them.'

They met in the United States about a year ago but have only recently started dating.

Lingard also celebrated his birthday with United team-mate Marcus Rashford, sharing pictures on social media of a night out after Sunday's win.

United are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Bristol City in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
