James Milner calls on Liverpool to be 'more boring' after they collapse at Arsenal to draw despite two-goal lead

James Milner has called on Liverpool to be 'more boring' and see out games in the future.

The visitors went two goals ahead - courtesy of Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah - in their game against Arsenal on Friday night only to be pegged back over a mad five minutes.

Arsenal then went ahead after a goal from Mesut Ozil.

Liverpool managed an equaliser, courtesy of Roberto Firmino, but there was disappointment on the Reds' part that they were unable to take the three points.

And the midfielder, who has a viral Twitter account named after him called 'Boring Milner', believes the Anfield side should have picked their moments.

Milner told Sky Sports Premier League: 'When you are in a position like that at this level you've got to see the game out. We have got to become more boring.

'There are times in the game when you've got to tighten up and not make those mistakes for five minutes. All the goals were our fault really and that's something we have to learn from.

'We play such good football going forward and maybe sometimes we need to switch that off for five or 10 minutes. We need to play it a bit tighter and keep the ball a bit longer rather than trying to break all the time.'

Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere was happy to finally cement his place in the Arsenal first-team again after three Premier League starts in a row: 'It's been a long time. At Bournemouth I played a lot of games.

'The idea was to go there and then get into the first team and that didn't happen exactly like it was supposed to.'
