Arsene Wenger's Arsenal stars were hard at work on Wednesday as they trained in the wintry conditions ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Jack Wilshere were all pictured being put through their paces at Arsenal's London Colney training base on the eve of their clash with Palace.

Wenger's men, who will look to maintain the pressure on their top four rivals on Thursday, wrapped up warm for the session as they braved the unpleasant conditions in Hertfordshire.

The Gunners appeared in a focused and determined mood as they put the finishing touches on their preparations ahead of the clash at Selhurst Park.


Arsenal will be desperate for victory over Roy Hodgson's outfit following their enthralling 3-3 draw with Liverpool on Friday night at the Emirates.

The previous meeting between Arsenal and Palace ended in humiliation for the Gunners as they were defeated 3-0 last season, with the result proving pivotal as Wenger's men missed out on a Champions League spot.

Arsenal currently sit sixth in the English top flight, four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool with a match to spare.

And speaking ahead of the match, Wenger admitted he is very unhappy with Arsenal's position in the Premier League as they look to force their way back into next season's Champions League.

Wenger said during his press conference on Wednesday: 'We should be higher of course and we are not happy with where we are. We want to be higher up.'Ā 

Meanwhile, Wenger has provided injury updates on Nacho Monreal, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud, who will all miss Thursday's game against the Eagles.

When asked when they will return to action, Wenger replied: 'Nacho I would say 10 days. Olivier, is four to six weeks but he is a quick healer so hopefully it could be less than four. Aaron Ramsey should be back the beginning of January.'
