Brighton have agreed a club-record £14.1million fee for PSV Eindhoven striker Jurgen Locadia.
The 24-year-old is due to arrive on the south coast for a medical on Friday ahead of his agreeing a four year contract.
Brighton will pay an initial £9m for the attacker, with the remaining £5m to be paid as part of a bonus structure.
Brighton are closing in on a £14million deal to sign PSV Eindhoven forward Jurgen Locadia
Locadia has been in emphatic form in front of goal this season, netting nine times in 15 Eredivisie matches and can play as a central striker or on the wing.
The Dutchman, who was a target for Wolves in the summer, is currently sidelined by a calf injury he sustained against Ajax in December, but is scheduled to return next month.
The move will see Locadia reunited with his former team-mate Davy Propper, who joined the Seagulls in a £10m switch back in the summer.
Brighton boss Chris Hughton will be pleased once the deal is wrapped up having made a forward player his priority in the window.
Hughton initially tried to sign striker Moussa Dembele but failed to reach an agreement with Celtic over his valuation.
Brighton have only managed 17 goals in the Premier League so far this season - the second lowest of any side in the division.
The 24-year-old is currently out with a calf injury but is due for his Seagulls medical on Friday
