West Brom are playing for a point now as they look to soak up the Everton attacks in stoppage time. There will be seven minutes of it following McCarthy's horror injury.
There doesn't appear to be a tight finish at Turf Moor. In fact it's United attacking as Nick Pope saves well from Martial.
Game over as the game enters stoppage time, Riyad Mahrez firing home on the counter attack after being played in by Adrien Silva.
Some confidence among the Everton ranks as they push for a winner. It was Wayne Rooney who came on for the stricken McCarthy just after the hour mark and he goes close to playing Theo Walcott in on goal inside the box, only for his pass to be intercepted.
Luka Milivojevic nets a consolation for Crystal Palace. More here
At 0-0:
'As Razorlight once said, I really, really wish I could be somewhere else than here.
'A very sleepy, lifeless second half at the London Stadium. West Ham still looking the likelier but my money is on 0-0. Manuel Lanzini has been forced off too through injury. He's been replaced by Javier Hernandez.'
At 0-1:
'Bournemouth's first shot on target, 72nd minute, Ryan Fraser scores.'
At 1-1:
'OK, I take back my Razorlight joke now... 1-1. Javier Hernandez.'
... but one minute later Javier Hernandez pounces to grab the equaliser after coming off the bench.
After a really drab period of play, Ryan Fraser opens the scoring after being played in by Junior Stanislas.
There were huge boos around Goodison Park when Cenk Tosun departed to be replaced by Oumar Niasse... but Sam Allardyce has the last laugh as the sub takes just a minute to equalise for the Toffees.
Paul Lambert looks like getting off to a winning start as Mame Diouf converts following a neat assist from Xherdan Shaqiri. Brilliant football from Stoke.
'Harry Maguire is having a stormer, heading everything and more than once dribbling his way into Watford territory.
'He has just set up Ben Chilwell, who produced a low cross that would have been tapped in by Jamie Vardy were in not for a fine intervention by Marvin Zeegelaar.'
'A horrible, horrible moment here. James McCarthy looks to have suffered a serious injury when trying to stop Salomon Rondon from shooting.
'McCarthy put his right leg in the way as Rondon shaped to shoot and the pair collided.
'Rondon, the West Brom forward, has broken down in tears and been consoled by his manager Alan Pardew. It should be stressed this a freak accident. McCarthy has been taken off on a stretcher.'
Concerning times for James McCarthy who appears to have suffered a dreadful injury for Everton. I'll add more info soon but right now it's serious enough to leave Salomon Rondon clearly distressed at the sight of the stricken Toffees midfielder.
From Sportsmail's Joe Bernstein at Turf Moor:
'Manchester United are attacking the end where their supporters are gathered in the second half and the extra urgency has worked.
'Romelu Lukaku slipped as he played a pass to Anthony Martial but it reached its destination and the Frenchman thundered in a fine finish off the underside of the crossbar.'
The Paul Lambert era is up and running at the bet365 Stadium. Eric Choupo-Moting does well on the left after collecting a Charlie Adam pass, before cutting back for Joe Allen to slot home.

Top finish from Xherdan Shaqiri with an acrobatic effort, but he is correctly ruled out for offside at the start of this second period.
Everton, unsurprisingly, make a change as Yannick Bolasie comes on for Nikola Vlasic who hardly had a kick.
'They’ve got a tenor singing Nessun Dorma on the pitch at half-time here at Burnley. On icy cold days like these in East Lancashire, Italia 90 couldn’t seem a more distant memory. Anyway, here’s hoping it can inspire the players to a better showing in the second half.'
Off the top of my head, and I haven't had a chance to check this, wasn't Italia 90 one of the lowest scoring World Cups based on goals per game? That's about the only link I can find with the first 45 minutes at Turf Moor though.
'West Ham have been the better team. More creative, more dangerous, more on the front foot. Goal is just eluding them. Asmir Begovic been the busiest man for Bournemouth so far.'
Everton have spent round £50million on attacking players this month yet have been utterly hopeless to the point they were booed off at half-time by their own supporters. Can they really be that bad again in the second period?
'Burnley reach half-time without Nick Pope having had to make a save. You know it's flat from United when left-back Ashley Young is the best attacking outlet'
Not a lot of goals... outside north London.

'Jamie Vardy has been practising his penalties. Usually he ploughs absolute power into his strikes from 12 yards. Here he slid it accurately into the right corner.
'He knew he needed to change up after missing in the League Cup shoot-out against Manchester City. No need for the video referee on the foul. It was a clumsy, unnecessary lunge by Molla Wague.
'Watford might have been appealing for a replay had the system been in use, though. Before Vardy scored, Watford had the ball in the net through Troy Deeney’s fine finish but the flag was up for offside. Replays showed it was a very marginal call.'
'Now that is significant. Thirty eight minutes gone and Jonjoe Kenny, the Everton full-back, has just had a shot on target, one that was comfortably saved by Ben Foster.
'It was met with ironic cheers by the Goodison crowd, who are becoming frustrated by their side’s slow and predictable build-up.'
Unlike Deeney's strike, nothing controversial about this. Molla Wague brings down Jamie Vardy who dusts himself down before opening the scoring from the penalty spot.
'Interestingly, United kicked the ball out of play to let Lingard receive treatment. Burnley didn't throw it back to them as the referee had signalled play on because it wasn't a head injury, so it United's choice to boot it over the line.'
Still, poor from Burnley?
Troy Deeney has volleyed a cracking strike past Kasper Schmeichel, but the goal is ruled out for offside against the Watford striker. Looks like that might be a controversial decision. There seems to be very little in it.
'The last team to score against United were... Burnley. Back on Boxing Day. Mourinho's men have kept four clean sheets in a row since then and it's interesting their back-five today - De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Smalling and Young - were all members of Fergie's last title team in 2013.'
Easy to see where all the quality is in London so far today. As Arsenal pile in the goals, Mark Noble hits a 30-yard strike that goes out for a throw in over in the East End.
'There’s snow on the hills above Turf Moor which is bathed in hazy sunshine. It’s arguably the most picturesque ground in the Premier League but, sadly, the football on show here so far isn’t quite so pretty.
'Burnley and United are cancelling each other out with neither goalkeeper having to make a save of note with nearly half an hour gone.'
From Sportsmail's Joe Bernstein at Turf Moor:
'Sir Alex Ferguson is among those inside Turf Moor. Even he'd have to admit Burnley have been the better team so far.'
'Everton, once again, look like a side with no confidence and the agitation in the crowd is audible. They haven’t played well and West Brom fully deserve the lead Jay Rodriguez has given them.
'The only surprise is that West Brom have started to retreat. It would make more sense to look for more goals as Salomon Rondon’s pace has the beating of Ashley Williams and Mason Holgate all the time.'
The Gunners are absolutely flying, with even Alexandre Lacazette back among the goals. More here.
Manchester United are attempting to take the game to Burnley but despite Anthony Martial getting into the box, his shot on goal is blocked by James Tarkowski.
'Two gilt-edged chances for Leicester inside the first 10 minutes but decent goalkeeping from a deputy and excellent defending from an unlikely source have kept the score level.
'The last game Orestis Karnezis played for Watford was the 3-2 defeat to Everton so he has already done better here, saving well from Jamie Vardy’s finish when racing through.
'Then Richarlison flung himself in the way of Wilfried Ndidi’s shot from close range to deny a certain goal.'
Two assists and a goal for Nacho Monreal, who allows Laurent Koscielny to score the third. More here.
'Bright start by Burnley at Turf Moor. James Tarkowski should have done better than head wide from eight yards out and Phil Jones – roundly booed due to his ties to Blackburn – has just made a great tackle to deny Ashley Barnes. Burnley maybe on a bad run, but they are taking the game to United early on.'
From Sportsmail's Joe Bernstein at Turf Moor:
'Snoozy start from United. Half-chances, possibly better, for Tarkowski and Barnes already.'
'West Ham seem up for this. David Moyes must have had his players practising their passing in triangles at training this week. Bournemouth have been bystanders so far.'
Who needs Alexis Sanchez? Alex Iwobi makes it 2-0. More here.
Everton have picked up from where they left off against Tottenham - on the back foot. Grzegorz Krychowiak releases Jay Rodriguez on goal, with the striker then slotting past Jordan Pickford.

Nacho Monreal opens the scoring for the Gunners. More here.
'Phil Jones left Blackburn in 2011 but Burnley fans never forget. The United defender is getting serious catcalls whenever he's on the ball.'
'Thunderous applause has just reverberated around Goodison Park to honour Cyrille Regis, whose picture was beamed from the giant scoreboards at either end of the stadium and for whom a banner has just been unfurled by the visiting West Brom supporters.
'The stadium announcer has just described him as “a fantastic footballer and an incredible man”.
'Those who had the privilege to know him and see him play would undoubtedly agree. As we type those words, the West Brom fans are singing his name again. His legacy will not be forgotten but he will be much missed.'

'Ben Mee and Antonio Valencia leading their team out at Turf Moor where the rain has stopped and the sun is peeping through for the first time in hours.
'Great anticipation for the visit of Manchester United, Burnley beat them in 2009 you know. Robbie Blake and all that.'

'Teams are out going through their warm-ups and there has just been a particularly generous ovation from the Goodison Park crowd for Gareth Barry, who is making his first return since leaving Everton last August.
'As expected, Everton new boys Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun were given warm welcomes by the locals too. There is no Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the squad today, with Sam Allardyce giving the England Under-21 international a break after a heavy workload.'
RIATH AL-SAMARRAI: Chelsea surged back to winning ways with a convincing win over Brighton on Saturday.
The Blues raced into a two-goal lead inside the first eight minutes on the south coast thanks to an Eden Hazard strike and a flowing team move finished off by Willian.
The Belgian scored a solo strike for Chelsea's third before Victor Moses rounded off the scoring late on.
And no it's not Alexis Sanchez coming into the Manchester United team that beat Stoke 3-0, but Ashley Young who replaces Luke Shaw.
Burnley haven't won any of their last seven games and bring in Scott Arfield to bolster the midfield as Sam Vokes drops out the team that lost 1-0 at Crystal Palace.
Orestis Karnezis makes his full Premier League debut as he replaces the injured Heurelho Gomes in goal for Watford.
Tom Cleverley is also ruled out for the Hornets as Andre Gray too departs from the team that drew 2-2 with Southampton as Troy Deeney and Roberto Pereyra return.
Leicester City are unchanged from the team that secured a goalless draw at Chelsea.
Having watched Stoke City lose 3-0 at Manchester United, Paul Lambert makes four alterations at the bet365 Stadium.
Erik Pieters, Charlie Adam, Ryan Shawcross and Mame Diouf all come into the side as Bruno Martins Indi, Josh Tymon, Stephen Ireland and Peter Crouch all make way.
Huudersfield make three changes to the team that were beaten 4-1 by West Ham as new signing Alex Pritchard makes his debut and is joined in the side by Steve Mounie and Florent Hadergjonaj as Tommy Smith, Joe Lolley and Laurent Depoitre make way.
West Ham United and Bournemouth make no changes from their last Premier League games, with West Ham sticking with the side that won 4-1 at Huddersfield Town, while Eddie Howe keeps faith with the team that came from behind to see off Arsenal 2-1.
Having been beaten comprehensively 4-0 at Tottenham Hotspur, Sam Allardyce makes four changes to his Everton team including handing a debut to new signing Theo Walcott.
The forward comes into the side along with Nikola Vlasic, Ashley Williams and Morgan Schneiderlin as Phil Jagielka, Idrissa Gueye, Yannick Bolasie and Wayne Rooney make way.
West Bromwich Albion are unchanged from the team that saw off Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0.

While I'll still bring you all major developments from the 3pm games, we have more in depth coverage of Arsenal's clash with Crystal Palace that you can follow with James Dutton on this link.
On the hour is the team news across the country, and I will at least bring you the Emirates Stadium lineup for that.
This weekend's Premier League action has already kicked off, with Chelsea travelling to Brighton for the 12.30pm kick-off at the AMEX Stadium.
We are sticking with everything 3pm here but Adam Shergold has all the action from the south coast which you can follow on this link.
But one person who it won't involve is Alexis Sanchez, who is in the final stages of completing his transfer from Arsenal to Manchester United.
Both teams are in action from 3pm as I welcome you to Sportsmail's live coverage of all the Premier League action.
Manchester United will seek to cut the gap to leaders Manchester City to nine points as they travel to Burnley in the pick of six 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho's side won't quite have Alexis Sanchez in their ranks but will aim to continue their good form and keep City glancing over their shoulder.
In the other matches, Leicester City host Watford, West Ham play Bournemouth, Stoke welcome Huddersfield and Everton are at home to West Brom.
