Does Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny take aim at Alexis Sanchez in Instagram post after reaching Carabao Cup final?

Mohamed Elneny has left Arsenal fans questioning whether an Instagram post celebrating the Carabao Cup semi-final win over Chelsea was also criticising Alexis Sanchez's commitment to the club.

The Gunners' 2-1 victory over the Blues on Wednesday night will see them play Pep Guardiola's Manchester City for the League Cup.

Elneny posted a picture of himself celebrating with his team-mates on Instagram on Thursday with the caption: 'Now there are players fighting every minute for the logo and the fans #WeAreTheArsenal Wembley time.'

This could be seen as hitting out at Sanchez who left the Emirates for Old Trafford on Monday in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Some Instragram users seemed to think so as they tagged @alexis_officia1 and said 'shots fired' in the post's comments.

While another user said: 'Is this a dig at Alexis?'

The Chilean forward was hoping to leave the Gunners last summer with just a year left on his contract.

He expressed his desire to play in the Champions League but Arsenal stood firm and kept hold of him until this week.

Sanchez will earn £350,000 a week at United over a four-and-a-half-year contract, rising to £450,000 when his image rights are added in, and £600,000 including bonuses.

He said: 'I am thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world. The chance to play in this historic stadium and to work with Jose Mourinho was something I could not turn down.

'Since I was a young lad I've always said that my dream was to play for Manchester United, and I'm not just saying that because I'm here now, and today my dream has come true.

'I believe that at this club it's possible to achieve anything. The badge says it all. It's a huge club on a worldwide scale, and I want to come here and win everything: the Premier League, the Champions League, and whatever comes the club's way in the future.

'I believe that the club itself cared about me joining, and that also gets through to the player.

'Players sometimes need to feel important and loved by the club.

'That was one of the things that attracted me to come here, along with the manager, who is a person who won everything in Italy, the same as he did in Spain. He's a manager who likes to win.'
