As Manchester United get set for Yeovil and Tottenham go to Newport... who will kill the Premier League giants in the FA Cup fourth round?

  • Manchester United go to League Two outfit Yeovil Town on Friday night
  • Leicester go to Peterborough on Saturday, while Newport host Tottenham
  • Championship high-flyers Cardiff host Manchester City on Sunday

Though the third round of the FA Cup provided only a few giant-killings, hopes are high ahead of the weekend of the fourth round.

It all kicks off on Friday night when Manchester United visit League Two Yeovil, with new signing Alexis Sanchez set for a far from glamorous debut.

Jose Mourinho's side are one of eight Premier League teams pitted against lower-league opposition, and Sportsmail have taken a look at the sides who could spring a surprise this weekend...

Alexis Sanchez is expected to be thrown in for his debut on Friday night after traveling down to Somerset with the rest of Jose Mourinho's squad.

The 5,212-seater Huish Park will host one of the biggest games in the club's history, but the odds are heavily against them causing a major upset.

Shock chance: 2/5

Saturday

Peterborough v Leicester (12.30pm)

Leicester have been in fine form under Claude Puel and, in Kelechi Iheanacho and Islam Slimani, boast £50million of attacking talent to call upon should they wish to rest their league starters.

Peterborough stunned Aston Villa with their 3-1 win in the previous round but will also have one eye on their faltering League One play-off hopes.

Shock chance: 2/5

Middlesbrough v Brighton (3pm)

Tony Pulis has the chance to cause an upset of his own when Middlesbrough host Brighton

New Boro boss Tony Pulis has won three and lost two since joining on Boxing Day and will fancy his chances of a win against Brighton, who have won two out of 13 on the road this season.

Shock chance: 4/5

Huddersfield v Birmingham (3pm)

Two sides in desperately poor form. David Wagner rested his key players in the previous round, but Steve Cotterill played his strongest side to knock out Burton and 'maintain momentum'. Expect him to do the same here.

Shock chance: 2/5

Notts County v Swansea (3pm)

Under Kevin Nolan, Notts County are second in League Two but have struggled recently, losing back-to-back home games in the space of four days this month.

Swansea, meanwhile, lie bottom of the Premier League but have shown signs of life with surprise wins over Wolves in the Cup and Liverpool on Monday.

Shock chance: 2/5

Wigan v West Ham (3pm)

Wigan are riding the crest of a wave at the top of League One and evoked memories of lifting the Cup with a 3-0 win over Bournemouth in the previous round.

David Moyes has turned things around at West Ham since joining at the start on November, but has spoken of prioritising Premier League survival.

Shock chance: 3/5

Newport County v Tottenham (5.30pm)

After escaping relegation from the Football League by the skin of their teeth in successive seasons, Newport are enjoying a fine season.

They are one point off the League Two play-offs and shocked Leeds at Rodney Parade in the previous round.

Mauricio Pochettino, with a top-four place in jeopardy and the Champions League meeting with Juventus on the horizon, may feel he has bigger battles to come.

Shock chance: 2/5

Sunday

Cardiff v Man City (4pm)

Neil Warnock masterminded a fine start to the Championship season, but three straight defeats at the end of 2017 saw Cardiff drop out of the top two.

They needed a replay to overcome Mansfield Town in the third round, while Pep Guardiola's rampant City are eyeing an unprecedented Quadruple, so don't expect any let up here.
