A police probe has been launched after Tottenham fan filmed himself urinating into a cup and hurling towards West Ham supporters inside Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night.

The man was sat in the Tottenham end at Wembley and launched the cup towards the nearby West Ham section, but most of its contents appear to have landed on his fellow Spurs fans.

A Scotland Yard statement read: 'The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is aware of footage circulating on social media which was reportedly recorded at the Spurs v West Ham game at Wembley on Wednesday, 25 October.

'A number of complaints were received by the MPS on 25 and 26 October in relation to the footage.

'Officers in the Public Order Unit will be investigating. No arrests have been made.'

Meanwhile, a Tottenham spokesman told the Metro: 'This behaviour is completely unacceptable and we are currently investigating and working to identify the individual responsible.'

A video, which was posted on Twitter, shows a giggling man urinating into a cup as his friends encourage him, shouting: 'Not too much! That's enough, that’s enough!'

He then passes the camera to his friend who films him hurling it over the unsuspecting fans to their left, before continuing to giggle.

On seeing the video, Twitter user Richiekpuk posted: 'I'm a Spurs fan and I’m ashamed of this guy. I hope whoever it hit finds him!'

Tottenham fan account White Hart Kane echoed the same sentiment, tweeting: 'Hope that who thought throwing a cup of his at people last night is banned for life. Don't need scum fans like that.'

The Hammers won Wednesday night's Carabao Cup tie 3-2, overcoming a 2-0 half-time deficit to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

In total, eight people were arrested at the match.
