Injury News:

Eden Hazard

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could be without star man Eden Hazard for the visit of London rivals West Ham to Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

Hazard limped off in stoppage-time following a tangle with Stoke forward Jonathan Walters where he appeared to injure his ankle.

The Blues midfielder came in for some rough treatment during a spiky contest at the Britannia Stadium.

Mourinho was extremely unhappy with a heavy challenge on Hazard from Phil Bardsley midway through the first-half and felt referee Neil Swarbrick could have brandished a red.

"From my position and in a flash, it looks for me a red card, but I don't know," he said.

Angel Di Maria

Angel Di Maria may start his first match in nearly a month on Boxing Day when Manchester United welcome Newcastle to Old Trafford.

The Argentina star returned to action in United's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday following a three week lay-off with a hamstring injury.

But having played the final half-an-hour at Villa Park, Di Maria may be handed the chance to start from the off against the Magpies by manager Louis van Gaal.

Arsenal Crisis

Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal's injury crisis could be down to them playing in a Champions League qualifier this season.

The Gunners have suffered a huge number of setbacks this campaign, which saw them play a two-legged play-off with Besiktas.

"When bodies are not really prepared you go from Besiktas to Everton. Is it the only explanation (for some of the injuries), otherwise I don't know," Wenger said.

"I believe 2015 can be very exciting if we get injured players back and have a good run.

"Top four is always the minimum required but we have Champions League, FA Cup, and the Premier League, where we want to come back to a stronger position and I think we will."
