A three game winning run has seen the Red Devils open up a one point lead over neighbours Manchester City at the summit after seven games.

Louis van Gaal’s side have a three-point lead over Arsenal, who currently lie fourth, ahead of their showdown at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

And while Wenger admits the game is important for both sides, he insists the winner will not determine who will dominate for the remainder of the season.

“At the moment it is very difficult to say that any team dominates this championship,” Wenger said.

“It’s so tight. They have one point more after seven games and it doesn’t mean that Sunday will make a big difference in the league.

“It is settling at the moment and it is a very important moment certainly in the Premier League.

“But you cannot come to the conclusion at the moment that one team is above everybody else.”
