DEFEATED: Jose Mourinho believes Chelsea will fail to qualify for the Champions League

The Portuguese manager saw his side defeated for the ninth time in just 16 games thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez.

Loic Remy did pull one goal back for the Premier League champions but it was no more than a consolation in the end.

"The top four is gone - clearly," Mourinho said.

TOUGH NIGHT: Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez gave Leicester a win over the champions

"We were the best team for 20-25 minutes, maybe for a maximum of 30 minutes. They were best team for an hour.

"When some of your players don't hit the levels they are capable of it is hard to see. This season we are doing so bad for some reason, not all of them.

"To turn things around, I know only one way - working at the top level. Day by day in training I have no complaints with them.

TACTICS: Mourinho took John Terry off and went to a back three but it made no difference

"But is it frustrating to see what they are doing in training and what they do in matches, then clearly yes."

Mourinho's opinion will not please Roman Abramovich who has backed the Chelsea boss to get the side into the top four and turn their poor form around.
