Man United boss Jose Mourinho opened up on his legacy

The Manchester United boss is regarded as one of the best managers in the world following his success over the last 15 years.

Mourinho has managed big sides all over the globe, including Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

The Special One has had success in every spell of his career - most notably winning two Champions League trophies.

Between 2003 and 2012, Mourinho did not go a single year without winning at least one trophy.

And the United boss has opened up on his success, claiming his legacy is what he does the job for - not results.

"I have a big legacy. But there is one thing that’s really important to me: I changed the life of Portuguese managers," Mourinho told GQ magazine.

"After 2004, when I started conquering my space in the world of football, the Portuguese managers started to have something they never had, a little bit of credibility, a little bit of opportunity.

"The doors opened. Now they are all over the world. This is my legacy.

"After that, we could discuss it in terms of my methodology, a new direction in terms of coaching, but the door opened when I went to England, Spain and Italy with success.

"This is more important to me than the results."
