Arsenal and Manchester City have held talks over a sensational swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero.

Sanchez is set to enter the final year of his Gunners contract next month and has provided no indication he will pen a new one.

And that stand-off has seen City boss Pep Guardiola join a list of admirers keen on securing his services when the transfer window opens.

Starsport understands the Etihad outfit have firmed up their interest in Sanchez by discussing a potential trade with Arsenal for Aguero.

The Argentina international found himself playing second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus at times last term and a swap might be of serious interest to both clubs.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly opened contract talks with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The England man's current deal is set to expire next summer.

But The Sun claim Arsenal want to tie him down and have started negotiations.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, eyed by Chelsea and Liverpool, is on around £70,000 a week at the moment.

And he's apparently poised to see that jump beyond the £100,000 a week mark if he agrees fresh terms.

Finally, West Ham are planning a £25m swoop for Theo Walcott.

That's according to The Sun, who say the forward may leave Arsenal to help get himself into Gareth Southgate's squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Walcott has spent the past 11-and-a-half years in north London after quitting Southampton as a teenager.

But Arsene Wenger's potentially permanent change to a 3-5-2 system threatens to marginalise him ahead of next year's tournament in Russia.

Slaven Bilic is said to be keen on offering him a route out of Arsenal as he looks to add a big-name attacker to his team though.
