Nemanja Matic wants to leave Chelsea

That’s according to The Guardian who suggest his departure from Stamford Bridge is imminent.

Matic has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and The Independent said earlier today they were his No.1 choice of destination.

Inter Milan and Juventus have also been linked with the Serbian.

Matic joins Diego Costa in sitting out Chelsea’s tour of Singapore.

Both are now expected to leave with Atletico Madrid chasing Costa.

The Guardian say Chelsea are reluctant to let Matic join United after the Red Devils swept in and stole Romelu Lukaku from under their noses.

The central midfielder has been training alone this week as his exit from the club gathers pace.

His replacement Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to complete his move to Stamford Bridge in the next 24 hours.

The arrival of the Frenchman will push Matic further towards the exit door - it’s just a case of where he will end up.

The Serbian is desperate to join United but the Red Devils are starting to become less optimistic about their chances of doing a deal.

Mourinho and his team are preparing for one last assault on the central midfielder.

The Guardian say Juventus are favourites for his signature but other reports today claimed Matic is ready to put his foot down and insist that he will only leave for United.

But if Chelsea refuse to sell he may be tempted by the approaches of Juventus who have proved they are a major player in Europe once again.
