Southampton are eyeing Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt as they prepare for life without Virgil van Dijk.

The Daily Mail claim £60m-rated Dutch star Van Dijk will hold talks with Saints this week as he looks to secure a move to Liverpool.

The 26-year-old is still eager to join the Reds despite the ugly transfer saga that has surrounded him this summer.

And it is said the Saints are willing to bid £12m for Hoedt as they seek to find Van Dijk's replacement.

Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool he wants Barcelona's Rafinha, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claim.

Several clubs are said to be keeping tabs on the Brazilian midfielder with Arsenal, Tottenham and both Milan giants keen.

Klopp wants Liverpool's director of football Michael Edwards to act fast to avoid missing out on the 24-year-old.

Mundo Deportivo claim the Reds are ready to pay up to £36m for Rafinha.

West Ham have knocked back Liverpool's attempt to sign Manuel Lanzini.

Lanzini was a star performer for the Hammers last term and has caught the eye of Klopp.

But Italian website Tuttomercatoweb claim West Ham's bosses have turned the Reds' approach down.

The 24-year-old is under contract at the London Stadium until 2020 and they have no interest in cashing in.
