The Spanish giants want the Brazil international to replace Neymar at the Nou Camp as he looks set for a move to Paris St-Germain.

But Liverpool remain adamant Coutinho is not for sale and he has started the pre-season game against Bayern Munich this evening.

Sheth told Sky Sports: “As Neymar looks likely to leave Barcelona the Spanish club are finding it increasingly hard to get a replacement.

“They were confident Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho would come to the Nou Camp but Liverpool are having none of it.

“Sources at Anfield have reiterated the club’s stance once again today, Coutinho is going nowhere and he is not for sale.

“Coutinho has started tonight’s game against Bayern Munich.”

Neymar looks set to leave Barca in a monumental move to PSG which will leave Ernesto Valverde looking for a replacement.

Coutinho was said to be top of his list but Liverpool have no intention of letting him exit Anfield.
