Ivan Perisic is holding contract talks with Inter Milan and will not be leaving Manchester United.

That's according to Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio who insists Perisic is not for sale.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear he wants to bring in a winger and Perisic was believed to be his No.1 target.

But Ausilio claimed Perisic was never an available option for United and talks have begun over extending his current contract.

"I don't understand where some of these stories come from," he told Mediaset Premium.

"Candreva has never been on the market and we have absolutely no intention of selling him.

"The same goes for Perisic, who is an important player and we are currently discussing a new contract with him."

Roma are prepared to turn their attentions to Juan Mata should they fail to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester.

The Serie A side were hoping to strike a deal for Mahrez but are reluctant to meet Leicester's asking price.

And Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport claim Roma are considering a bid for Mata.

The Spain international has just one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford is yet to agree personal terms over a new deal.

But Mata reportedly has a clause in his current contract that, if triggered, will see him stay until 2019.

Crystal Palace are reportedly considering a loan bid for Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

The 19-year-old has proved a versatile option for Jose Mourinho. with his ability to play at right-back and in midfield.

He has featured heavily in pre-season but the signing of Nemanja Matic and rumours linking United with a move for Serge Aurier could limit Fosu-Mensah's first-team opportunities.

And The Sun claim Palace boss Frank de Boer is keen to bring the Dutch U21 international to Selhurst Park.

De Boer was Fosu-Mensah's manager at Ajax during his time in the academy before he joined United in 2014.
