The Irish defender has never featured for the senior team but is becoming a vital cog in United’s U19s side.

And a moment of pure magic during their Otten Cup clash against Cruzeiro on Friday (August 4) might just attract the eye of Jose Mourinho.

The centre-back – yes CENTRE-BACK – intercepted the ball on the halfway line before going on a remarkable run.

He casually dribbled past one opponent before picking up the pace and gliding past four more.

Man Utd defender Lee O'Connor scored a brilliant goal for the u19s

O’Connor then fired a shot which was saved but pounced on the rebound to smash home – sealing United’s 2-0 win.

Footage of the brilliant move has been retweeted more than 1,300 times since United posted it.

“Single-handedly destroyed them!” one amazed fan wrote.

Another commented: “Making of a legend.”

O'Connor took the deserved applause

And a third added: “Mourinho – call him up!”

While O’Connor is a rising star at the Red Devils, another youngster is set to leave the club.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah will undergo a medical at Crystal Palace today ahead of a season-long loan, according to The Sun.

The 19-year-old has made 21 appearances for United since his debut in February 2016 but it’s thought Eagles boss Frank De Boer plans to make him a regular at Selhurst Park.
