United want the Inter Milan winger on board but getting a deal done has proven tricky.

Inter are not budging on their £48m valuation of the Croatia international winger and they want Anthony Martial thrown into the bargain too.

Jose Mourinho doesn’t want to lose the French ace, and there hasn't been much progress for a month.

It was claimed yesterday United will launch a new bid for Perisic this week.

But Italian journalist David Amoyal isn’t confident of a transfer being completed.

In his column on ESPN, he gave Man Utd just a 15 per cent charge of signing Perisic.

“In recent weeks, there has been momentum for the Croatia international to stay at Inter,” he wrote.

“Manchester United were reluctant to include Anthony Martial in the deal, and they also have yet to increase their offer from a few weeks ago.

“In addition, now that Inter no longer have to raise funds to meet their financial fair play obligations, they will sell the 28-year-old winger on their own terms.

“The expected arrival of Emre Mor at Inter also shouldn't be seen as a signal either Antonio Candreva or Perisic are leaving, considering Spalletti's reliance on wingers.

“The club need to bolster their depth in the position.”
