Spurs have already seen Kyle Walker leave north London for Manchester City this summer and they had to fight hard to keep Eric Dier away from Manchester United.

Major question marks remain over Danny Rose's future following his explosive interview earlier this week and now Mauricio Pochettino could have another issue on his hands.

The Independent claim La Liga giants Barcelona have ‘made initial moves’ in their attempts to land Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

Barca are eager to find a top-class replacement for Neymar following his £200m move to Paris St-Germain.

But Liverpool are bluntly refusing to sell Coutinho while Borussia Dortmund are demanding upwards of £130m for Ousmane Dembele.

The Independent say that has led Barca to target Eriksen and they have already told their agents to get on the task of landing the Danish ace.

A deal for the 25-year-old will be far from easy.

Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy is one of the toughest negotiators in the game while Eriksen only signed a new four-year contract 12 months ago.

And Pochettino, who is yet to sign a new player this summer, will be desperate not to lose his midfielder who has become one of the club’s top performers in recent seasons.

The Independent add that the only way Tottenham could be willing to sell is if Barcelona were to table an offer of over £100m.

Eriksen moved to north London from Ajax in August 2013 for £11m.

He has since scored 42 goals in 179 games for the club and was named their player of the year last term.
