At least that’s what Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has suggested in a tweet which seems to be trolling the Reds.
Coutinho has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp over the past couple of years as a potential replacement for Andres Iniesta.
But this summer he’s emerged as the man Barcelona want to fill Neymar’s boots after his compatriot jumped ship to join Paris St-Germain.
Starsport understands Liverpool have knocked back two bids worth £72m and £90m from the La Liga giants.
While Coutinho has tried to force his way out of Anfield by handing in a transfer request.
Former Premier League striker Hasselbaink has now had his say on the matter on Twitter.
And he appears to have taken a not so subtle swipe at Liverpool in the way he’s worded his verdict.
Hasselbaink said: "I have a great deal of sympathy for #LFC over Phillippe Coutinho [sic].
"Its not that I think he is unhappy but when a big club come calling? [sic]"
Liverpool fans are sure to take issue with Hasselbaink branding Barcelona a "big club" in comparison to theirs.
Liverpool boast a proud history having won 18 First Division titles, the Champions League five times and a host more trophies over the years.
