Man Utd transfer news: Marouane Fellaini is wanted by Juventus

The Champions League finalists are looking to add to their midfield, and it's claimed if they fail to land PSG’s Blaise Matuidi they will turn their interest towards the big Belgian.

According to The Sun, Allegri wants a tall and strong midfielder after Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal left the club in the past two seasons.

It's claimed Juventus would be willing to pay around £22.5m for the 29-year-old, who is yet to start a match this season for Man Utd.

Jose Mourinho has previously been unwilling to sell the Belgian, but with Nemanja Matic impressing on debut Juve are hoping United will listen to offers for Fellaini.

Mourinho last month said he would not sell Fellaini, and joked it was more likely he would move to Galatasaray.

“It is easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane,” the United manager said.

“Marouane? Forget it. He’s very important to me.”

Fellaini moved to Old Trafford in 2013 when David Moyes bought him from Everton for £27m.

He signed a four-year contract at the time and has since extended his terms by another 12 months.

The towering Belgium international came off the bench on Sunday for the final 15 minutes on United's Premier League opener against West Ham and also came off the bench against Real Madrid in the Super Cup last week.

And he could struggle for regular first team football this season following the arrival of Matic, with Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick also in the frame for a central midfield role.

United are next in action on Saturday when they travel to the Liberty Stadium to play Swansea.
