Manuel Lanzini will not be leaving West Ham for Liverpool, says Slaven Bilic

The Anfield club have been linked with Lanzini over the summer, and with Philippe Coutinho’s future in doubt they are looking for replacements.

The 25-year-old Brazilian handed in a transfer request last week but it was rejected by Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group.

Barcelona continue to chase Coutinho as they look for a replacement for Neymar after he left for Paris St-Germain in a record-breaking £200m deal.

Despite Liverpool's interest, Bilic insists the Argentina international is happy at the London Stadium.

“I am sure he [Lanzini] is going to stay with us,” Bilic said.

“I said it last week when we spoke out about it before the Manchester United game.

“He broke into the Argentina team, he got a call-up for the game in September so he knows that if he plays for West Ham I have a chance to improve, sign a better contract with West Ham and play for Argentina. He is very happy.”

Bilic added that he is refusing to put a price tag on the 24-year-old, who joined the Hammers in 2016 from UAE club Al Jazira.

He added: “I don’t want to set a price tag on him.

“I speak to Manu every day and he is very happy. He really feels at home here, he feels wanted.

“You can see it, you don’t have to talk to the player but you see he is smiling, he is happy.”
