At least that’s the verdict of Anfield legend Mark Lawrenson, who says the Brazilian dreams of joining the La Liga giants.
Coutinho, 25, has been linked with a move to Barcelona over the past few seasons after establishing a reputation as a top creative talent.
And their interest in securing his services has ramped up in the wake of Neymar’s world-record departure to Paris St-Germain two weeks ago.
Liverpool have knocked back three offers for Coutinho so far this summer, with the latest coming in before Saturday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
That bid, of around £118m, somewhat overshadowed the build-up to the Reds’ first home game of the 2017/18 campaign.
Lawrenson reckons another proposal will be made ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League play-off second leg against Hoffenheim.
Discussing the speculation surrounding Coutinho’s potential switch, Lawro said: "There always will be.
"And I wouldn’t mind betting they’re [Liverpool] probably gonna say no, or have already said no, to the latest offer. You watch before Hoffenheim on Wednesday, I bet they make another bid, Barcelona. So it’s gonna be the same.
"FSG [Fenway Sports Group] have said he’s not for sale. The only problem, Ian [Dennis], is the fact he really seriously wants to go. You don’t want a disaffected player at the football club. He’s an unbelievably nice lad, but this is his dream.
"I’m not being funny, £114m for Coutinho? I’d say [to Coutinho], ‘Thanks, but see you later’."
