Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba have started the season well at Manchester United

The France midfielder has started the season in style following a difficult first year back at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho's capture of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea has allowed Pogba more freedom to roam forward in Manchester United's opening games.

And it's paid off, with Pogba netting in both 4-0 wins over West Ham and Swansea.

Martial also comes into the new campaign off the back of a tough seasonal Old Trafford but has made an impression too.

The forward has come off the bench in both Premier League matches to net twice as well.

And Martial has praised club and international team-mate Pogba on his top-class quality.

“He is a big guy, he is very technical on the ball and he has lots of endurance,” Martial told MUTV.

"I would say he is probably the best midfield player in the world.

"He is still young, too, so he has a lot to work on and he can get even better.

"As a person you can see he is always the same.

"He is funny, always smiling, he doesn’t take himself too seriously, I always see him laughing and he is a good friend of mine.

"He is the same person on and off the pitch, and he'll continue to be like this."

Martial's future has been under speculation at United.

Monaco have reportedly enquired about his availability, while Tottenham have also been linked.

But Mourinho has insisted the 21-year-old is going nowhere, despite United pursuing another winger.

And talking about his own ambitions, Martial added: “We want to win a lot of trophies together at United, and we also want to win the World Cup with France.

“If he continues to play and improve like he is doing then I think he is also going to win the Ballon d’Or award in the next five years.”

Martial and Pogba are back in action at the weekend when United host Leicester.
