Barcelona are desperate to sign Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona are set to bid again for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

That’s according to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo who reckon Barca will launch another raid on Thursday.

It’s suggested the La Liga champions will try their luck again when the Champions League draw is held in Monaco.

Coutinho has emerged as Barcelona’s top target following the world-record sale of Neymar to Paris St-Germain two weeks ago.

And the 25-year-old handed in a transfer request - which was rejected by Liverpool chiefs - in a bid to force through a move.

Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have knocked back offers worth £72m, £90m and £118m from Barcelona for Coutinho.

Virgil van Dijk is unlikely to swap Southampton for Liverpool before the transfer window shuts.

At least that’s the verdict of journalist Kevin Palmer amid speculation the Reds still want the Holland international.

On Twitter, a fan said: "Maybe I'm naive, but I just think Klopp only wants VvD and [Naby] Keita. Clubs won't sell, so begrudgingly must wait."

And Palmer replied: "Be surprised if he gets Van Dijk at this stage. Saints don't like Liverpool too much!"

Barcelona are keen on Liverpool transfer target Naby Keita.

The Reds were desperate to secure his services this summer - but RB Leipzig refused to sell.

Liverpool had two bids for the Guinea international snubbed by the Bundesliga side.

Mundo Deportivo say Barcelona bigwig Robert Fernandez jetted to Germany last weekend to watch Keita in action.

The midfielder featured in Leipzig’s 2-0 defeat to Schalke.

Barca may now attempt a late swoop for his services before the transfer window slams shut.
