Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has told Arsene Wenger he wants to leave Arsenal

The England midfielder’s deal expires next summer and he now looks certain to leave.

He’s already snubbed two new proposals with the latest being worth over £125,000-a-week.

But Oxlade-Chamberlain has told Wenger to his face that it’s not about the money.

However, Arsenal plan to sit down with the former Southampton man and make him a third offer.

And the Daily Mirror say their efforts will be in vain.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s stance is great news for Chelsea who are set to offer £35m for his signature.

They want to capitalise on the player’s desire to leave.

However, Wenger has been bullish all summer insisting that Arsenal would rather keep players whose contracts are expiring than cash in.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is just one of a number of players who will be available for nothing in 2018.

Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are the two most high profile and there could be something of a crisis around the corner at The Emirates.

Wenger’s team could be dismantled as seven first-team players enter the last year of their contract.
