Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is delighted to be back in the Champions League

The Reds are celebrating after booking their place in the Champions League group stages for the first time since 2014.

Jurgen Klopp's men brushed aside Hoffenheim 4-2 at Anfield to win 6-3 on aggregate in the qualification showdown.

The Reds will now focus their attention of doing battle with Europe's biggest and best teams.

But Henderson is confident Klopp's side can hold their own and make their mark in a competition the club has won a British-record five times.

The England ace said: "It was a big night – a huge night to get back in the Champions League, where I feel as though we belong.

"It was a brilliant night for everyone. We are delighted to be back in the Champions League. It's great for the lads, the fans and the club.

"I think we've got to look forward now, playing with pace and intelligence - winning the ball back with energy.

"Whoever we get in the draw I think we'll give as good as we get.

"We've proved that we can play against anyone really. There are some brilliant sides in the competition, but we'll be confident going into the group stage whoever we get.

"We'll put up a good fight against anyone."
