That’s according to The Transfer Window podcast guest Ian McGarry.

He says Mustafi could be off just a year after joining from Valencia in a £35m deal.

When quizzed on potential deals that Arsenal could do before Thursday’s transfer deadline, McGarry said: “Mustafi definitely out.”

Starsport understands Inter Milan are sniffing around.

And Arsenal could sell to the Italian club if they receive a bid of £35m, recouping the cash they spent on the Germany international last summer.

Arsenal transfer news: Shkodran Mustafi is set to leave

Mutafi has failed to bond with some of his team-mates, meaning Arsene Wenger could decide to cash-in.

Manager Wenger was coy when quizzed about the defender earlier this week.

He said: “It’s difficult for me to speak about any individual cases because we are now in the final seven days of the transfer market.

“It’s always very difficult to predict what will happen there.

“You have to make quick and sharp decisions, and you cannot plan that and come out in the press conference with how you will respond to any solicitation.”

Virgil van Dijk of Southampton is a potential replacement for Mustafi should Southampton decide to sell.
