12.15pm: West Brom have completed the signing of Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal.

The left-back has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Baggies.

He said: "I watched the boys in the first few games of the season and they've got a lot of energy.

“They've made some good signings and I feel this is a good move for me."

11.20am: According to Spanish publication Marca, Liverpool have sent a team to Monaco to put Thomas Lemar through a medical.

France international Lemar is a major target for Jurgen Klopp ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Liverpool are in talks with Monaco and have already had a £60m bid knocked back.

Starsport understand they are ready to up their offer to £75m.

10.50am: Arsenal have rejected a £30m bid from Liverpool for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The Reds are reluctant to match the £40 fee Chelsea had agreed with the Gunners for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The England international prefers a move to Anfield over Stamford Bridge.

10.25am: Raheem Sterling will not be quitting Manchester City for Arsenal.

The Gunners fancied Sterling in part-exchange for Alexis Sanchez.

But City prefer a straight-cash deal for Sanchez.

10.15am: Jose Mourinho is convinced Riyad Marrez should join Manchester United.

But Old Trafford chiefs do not share his opinion on the Leicester star.

Mahrez is eager to quit the Foxes for Champions League football.

10.10am: Chelsea are even-money to land Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.

The Premier League champions have had a £25m bid rejected by the Toffees for Barkley.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Having had an initial bid of £25m turned down, Chelsea’s pursuit of Ross Barkley is expected to go down to the wire, with the Everton midfielder now evens to join the champions.

“Everton are demanding a higher fee, but the 23-year-old only has 12 months remaining on his contract and it’s likely they’ll cash in on the wantaway midfielder before Thursday’s deadline.

“Tottenham had previously been odds-on to sign Barkley earlier in the window, but with the North-London club yet to lodge a firm bid, they’re currently an outside shot at 4/1.”

9.25am: Chelsea have had a £25m bid rejected by Everton for Ross Barkley.

Barkley is in the final year of his contract and looks set to quit Goodison Park.

The 23-year-old is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but the Toffees are reluctant to let him go on the cheap.

8.40am: Chelsea are on the verge of signing Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

Antonio Conte, who has been chasing Llorente since January, wants him as back-up for Alvaro Morata.

Llorente is set to cost £15m.

8.05am: Arsenal have suffered a blow in the chase for Liverpool target Virgil van Dijk.

It was reported yesterday that Southampton were willing to do a deal with the Gunners if Theo Walcott moved in the opposite direction.

But, according to football journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, the Saints’ move for Walcott is a “non-starter”.

Giulianelli, who made the original claim, tweeted: “Walcott to Southampton seems to be a non-starter.

“He was willing to join on £180k per week but Saints would only offer around £130k.”

7.45am: Chelsea target Danny Drinkwater has stunned Leicester by handing in a transfer request, according to Sky Sports.

Drinkwater wants to join the Premier League champions but they are yet to agree a fee with the Foxes.

A £25m bid has been floated about but Leicester are looking for more.

5.35am: Jamie Redknapp’s heard there’s little chance of Liverpool getting a deal sorted out for Southampton star Virgil Van Dijk.

He said: "I remember doing The Debate show three weeks ago, four weeks ago now, and we were talking about [how] I thought it was a certainty that Liverpool would get Van Dijk. But they are digging their heels in. I’m hearing that there’s no way they’re gonna sell him.

"It’s a nightmare for the player. It’s a little bit like the Coutinho one because now we’re talking about two players that are getting an opportunity. Coutinho wants to go to Barcelona. It’s hard to begrudge anyone doing that. When you [Ian Wright] was at Crystal Palace, you had the chance to go to Arsenal, you know. And it’s the same with Van Dijk wanting to go to Liverpool, or wherever it is, Chelsea. Everyone wants to better themselves, in whatever walk of life you’re from.

"It’s a really interesting one now and I’m looking forward to seeing how these all figure out. The fact that Liverpool are bidding for [Thomas] Lemar and believe they’ve got a good chance of getting him tells me that maybe [the] Coutinho one could still be alive and they are selling him but they want to get in a player before they end up selling him to Barcelona."

4.50am: Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid duo Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Llorente, Diario Gol claim.

The Blues have splashed the cash on Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger and Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer.

And it seems Antonio Conte wants to bolster his squad further with two Real aces on his wish list.

Diario Gol reckon Chelsea have joined Liverpool in eyeing up Serbia international Kovacic.

Llorente, meanwhile, is said to be on the reigning Premier League champions' radar too.

3.40am: Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez reportedly has offers on the table from two Premier League clubs.

The Spain international, 26, has made 88 appearances since breaking into the La Liga giants' senior plans in 2015.

But during that time he's struggled to hold down a starting spot under Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane.

Diario Gol have now claimed Arsenal and Liverpool have made proposals to Vazquez.

His signature is apparently wanted by Italian sides Juventus and Roma as well.

2.55am: Liverpool are ready to make Virgil Van Dijk the most expensive defender in history.

That's according to respected Merseyside football reporter Paul Joyce, who writes for The Times.

Van Dijk, 26, has been tipped to leave Southampton and made his desire known by handing in a transfer request.

However, that was rejected by St. Mary's chiefs who are yet to alter their stance that he's not for sale this summer.

Should Southampton change their mind, Joyce says Liverpool are prepared to pay £70m to sign Van Dijk.

2.00am: Danny Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request at Leicester, Sky Sports claim.

The England international, 27, has been linked with a move to Chelsea since the departure of Nemanja Matic.

And The Debate presenter Kelly Cates broke the news of Drinkwater's attempt to force a move last night.

She said: "The breaking news is that Danny Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request at Leicester amid reported interest from Chelsea."

Leicester are thought to be holding out for £40m before they'll let Drinkwater leave the King Power Stadium.

1.10am: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has knocked back an offer from Chelsea.

That's according to the BBC, who claim the Arsenal contract rebel wants to join Liverpool instead.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 24, is apparently concerned he'd have to play wing-back at Stamford Bridge.

And a switch to Anfield is preferable because he'd get more chances in central midfield there.

The BBC claim Liverpool are expected to make an offer for the 24-year-old before tomorrow night's transfer deadline.

Wednesday, August 30

12.30am: Virgil Van Dijk will consider offers other than Liverpool’s before the transfer window shuts - according to Jim Beglin.

The Southampton defender, 26, wants to quit St. Mary’s this summer and has been linked with the Reds, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Beglin offered his take on the saga on Twitter, suggesting Van Dijk’s next home might not be Anfield.

A fan asked Beglin: "Which would be one signing if at all it can, that would definitely boost @Arsenal, sir @jimbeglin?"

And he replied: "Van Dijk."

Another fan responded: "He is Liverpool’s."

And Beglin said: "Not yet. Open to offers."

Southampton star Virgil Van Dijk will not just consider a move to Liverpool, Jim Beglin claims

Tuesday, August 29

11.30pm: Jamie Redknapp has explained Chelsea's pursuit of Leicester star Danny Drinkwater.

The Debate pundit said: "I think last year he was disappointing. The year before I thought he was fantastic and the relationship between him and Kante was brilliant. And I’m sure that Conte and Chelsea will have looked at that and thought: ‘He’d be a great acquisition’.

"[They’ve got] lots of games, it’ll thicken the squad up. He’s a good type. He’s a winner. [He] gets about the pitch. Something happened to him last year, the drop off after winning the league wasn’t just him, I think it was everyone.

"I can see exactly why they’d want him. I think he’s a good squad player. I think a few Chelsea fans might look down their nose at Danny Drinkwater. I think he’s a good player to have, good squad player."

10.30pm: Liverpool are poised to raise their bid for Thomas Lemar to £75m.

French champions Monaco have already turned down a £60m offer for the 21-year-old.

Lemar scored 14 times last season as his team reached the Champions League semi-finals and won their domestic title.

But Liverpool insist their move for the France international is not linked to the future of playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

9.50pm: Arsenal have rejected a £50m bid from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez.

The Gunners want Raheem Sterling as part of a swap deal if they lose their star man.

But Pep Guardiola is keen to do a cash only transfer for the man he worked with during his time at Barcelona.

9.10pm: LEEDS DONE DEAL

Hamburg have confirmed Pierre-Michel Lasogga has joined Leeds on a season-long loan.

The Bundesliga side confirmed the striker's move on their Twitter feed.

They said: @Lasogga10 goes on loan to @LUFC for summer 2018.

"All the best for the season, Pierre!"

Leeds have been looking for a replacement for Chris Wood following his £15m move to Premier League side Burnley.

8.15pm: Liverpool have told Philippe Coutinho he will be a Barcelona player before Thursday’s deadline passes.

The Reds are set to let their talisman leave for the Nou Camp after the Brazilian handed in a transfer request at Anfield.

Barca have agreed to pay up to €160m (£148m) for Coutinho.

The Catalan club have been chasing the 25-year-old since Neymar left for Paris St-Germain in a record-breaking £198m deal.

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group made Coutinho aware of their decision before he left for international duty with Brazil, according to Yahoo Sports.

7.40pm: Liverpool are close to agreeing a loan deal with Bayern Munich for Renato Sanches.

The Reds have been busy since thrashing Arsenal 4-0 in the Premier League at the weekend.

They’ve concluded a deal for Naby Keita who will move to Anfield next summer and they have made several offers for Thomas Lemar as well.

But Transfer Market Web claim Sanches will be the next man through the door for Jurgen Klopp.

6.55pm: Neymar has reportedly stabbed Lionel Messi in the back for telling Philippe Coutinho not to join Barcelona.

Coutinho has been chased by the La Liga giants for several weeks.

However, Liverpool are determined not to sell their prized asset and have snubbed repeated bids.

But Barca keep pushing and a mega-money transfer might still be a possibility.

But Spanish news outlet Diario Gol say Neymar has told Coutinho to stay at Liverpool.

6.05pm: Liverpool have reportedly had a host of offers for Divock Origi - but they are hoping to use him in their ambitious plan to land Thomas Lemar.

Monaco ace Lemar, a key target for Arsenal in recent months, is now firmly on Jurgen Klopp’s radar.

The Reds boss is trying to sign the young winger in a deal worth £75m with Origi potentially heading to France as a makeweight.

Monaco are keen on the Belgian striker but it appears they are not the only club in the mix.

Marseille, Bayer Leverkusen, Werder Bremen, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Tottenham have all reportedly made their interest known.

5.35pm: Liverpool have rejected a £25m offer from Crystal Palace for defender Mamadou Sakho.

The deal was worth £22m with £3m in add-ons but the Reds value the French centre-back at £30m.

The BBC claim Liverpool will not accept any less than their asking price ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

West Brom and Leicester are also interested in Sakho but the player favours a move back to Selhurst Park where he enjoyed a loan spell last season.

4.55pm: Everton are looking to hijack Chelsea’s move for Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.

The Blues need to bolster their attacking options with Diego Costa still ousted and the club are expected to try and land Llorente before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

But Conte and co will now reportedly face competition from Premier League rivals Everton.

ESPN claim the Toffees have made Llorente one of their main targets for the remaining days of the summer window.

3.55pm: Barcelona are no closer to completing the signing of Liverpool superstar Philippe Coutinho.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says negotiations are still ongoing between the two clubs but no progress has been made.

He took to Twitter to explain the Catalan press were making things up regarding the transfer being close.

Balague said: “Nothing new on the Coutinho situation. Liverpool still not negotiating.

“They do not want to sell. Catalan press continues making things up.”

3.10pm: Nigel Winterburn thinks Liverpool should make sure they sign Virgil van Dijk before deadline day.

“They’re trying to (sign players), aren’t they,” Winterburn said on Sky Sports.

“I think Van Dijk has been linked. I looked at Liverpool at the weekend, every compartment was sensational.

“I think what you have to look at and say goalkeeper is still a question. Mignolet was in, left him out, needed a rest before an international break, Karius came in.

“Centre-half position. If Liverpool can bring in Van Dijk into that centre-half position, I think they would be looking very, very strong.”

Will Philippe Coutinho be off to Barcelona before Thursday?

2.50pm: Arsenal are weighing up a swoop for German star Julian Draxler.

Draxler could leave Paris St-Germain after just six months in the French capital.

Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are keen on a deal for the 23-year-old, who joined PSG from Wolfsburg for around £36m in January.

And Arsenal are now interested too, Le 10 Sport report.

2.30pm: Chelsea are optimistic Swansea will accept £15m for Fernando Llorente.

Antonio Conte has been keen to reunite with the former Juventus striker since January.

The Blues were rebuffed midway through last season as Llorente helped Swansea avoid relegation.

But a deal is looking more of a possibility ahead of Thursday's 11pm deadline, with the Evening Standard claiming the Swans could now accept a lower price than their original £30m demand.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested but the Southampton centre-back wants to join the Reds before the window slams shut, according to the Independent.

12.20pm: Liverpool still have hope of landing Thomas Lemar, with the Monaco star keen to join.

That is according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

“Monaco want him to stay but we are told every player has his price," he said.

“Lemar wants a move but he’s not kicking up a fuss."

12pm: Chelsea are in pole position to land Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - but the Arsenal star would rather join Liverpool.

That’s the blockbuster claim of TalkSPORT and Sky Sports presenter Jim White.

Chelsea have agreed a fee with Arsenal for 'The Ox', but could there be a late twist in the tale?

White wrote on Twitter: “Although @Arsenal and @ChelseaFC reportedly agree fee for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, source says player's preference would be @LFC.”

"Another player who could potentially be involved in any deal, this is what one source is telling us, is Sergio Aguero," he said on air.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "We're strapping ourselves in for a hectic few days before the transfer window slams shut and it looks as though Mourinho isn't quite finished in the market.

Barca are already planning for the future having signed Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund on Friday.

And Spanish new outlet Don Balon reckon Rashford is being targeted next.

Securing his signature certainly won’t be cheap, though. Don Balon say he could cost the Catalans an eye-watering £185m.
