Man Utd transfer news: Ivan Perisic looks to be staying at Inter Milan

That’s according to the player’s national team boss Ante Cacic.

The Croatia manager was quizzed on Perisic’s future amid interest from the Old Trafford club this summer.

And he’s poured cold water on a deal being done before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

“I spoke to Ivan Perisic, he is happy in Inter," Cacic said.

"The coach [Luciano Spalletti] appreciates him, they are preparing a new contract for him."

Jose Mourinho appeared to admit defeat over getting Perisic.

The Manchester United boss suggested United’s business was done after shelling out on Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof this summer.

I don't think we are unless something happened that put us in market again," he said.

“I told Mr Woodward obviously my plans were four but I also told him be cool, no pressure from me. I said to him do what you think is the best for the club.

“We will be together for another transfer window in January and next summer so there is no pressure from me at all.

“I am happy with the squad we have. I am ready to go without a fourth player. If we are out of the market, I am fine. I'm ready.”
