That’s the verdict of player-turned-pundit Jim Beglin, who reckons the Southampton star is the man Arsenal need to give them a boost.
Van Dijk has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most in-demand players since joining Saints from Celtic two years ago.
And a summer switch to Anfield appeared to be a formality before Liverpool were accused of tapping the Holland international up in June.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal have been linked with Van Dijk too - although a move to Merseyside remains most likely.
Beglin has now had his say on the 26-year-old defender’s future with just days of the transfer window to go.
And he’s hinted Van Dijk could join one of Liverpool’s rivals instead if they come calling.
On Twitter, a fan asked Beglin: "Which would be one signing if at all it can, that would definitely boost @Arsenal, sir @jimbeglin?"
And he replied: "Van Dijk."
Another fan responded: "He is Liverpool’s."
And Beglin said: "Not yet. Open to offers."
The same fan added: "Unless Liverpool mess up big time again, he should be ours by Thursday. Do you think Arsenal have a chance, Jim?"
And Beglin said: "Suspect the Saints will do what FSG [Fenway Sports Group] are doing to [Philippe] Coutinho."
