Barcelona appear to have given up on Philippe Coutinho

The Catalan giants are desperately scouring the globe for a Neymar replacement.

He shocked the world by moving to Paris St-Germain earlier this summer for £198m.

Ernesto Valverde has managed to bring in Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund but Coutinho was a priority.

Liverpool have insisted he will not be sold all summer and it looks like they might be right.

Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo say Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid and Kop target Thomas Lemar are now on Barca’s radar.

The report claims the Catalans have well and truly moved onto Plan B after Liverpool’s reluctance to discuss any deal for Coutinho.

Kop chief executive Peter Moore reiterated that position last night.

He received a tweet reading: “So much for keeping Coutinho. FSG are a bunch of s***houses with a sell to buy policy. Clubs going no-where!”

Moore then replied: “My sincere apologies, but I know not of what you speak…”
