Angel Di Maria was one of two PSG stars offered to Tottenham

The French side are looking to recoup some of the £200m spent on Neymar in order to ease Financial Fair Play pressure from UEFA.

And the expected signing of Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe only intensifies their need to balance the books.

Along with Di Maria and Moura, Julian Draxler is also rumoured to be on his way out of the Parc des Princes.

The German is believed to be concerned over his playing time with world record signing Neymar now in their ranks, and the potential arrival of Mbappe will only further his worries.

According to France Football, however, Mauricio Pochettino was not keen on a move for Lucas.

The Spurs boss does not believe the Brazilian, who has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United, is good enough for the Premier League, and would prefer a deal for compatriot Di Maria.

But despite Pochettino's interest, the Spurs board are unwilling to back their boss and bring in the former Manchester United flop.

They believe Di Maria would be too expensive in a period where their transfer budget is crippled by expenses for a new stadium.

Whilst these deals appear to be dead, The North London club are still on the verge of taking another player from PSG's books, with defender Serge Aurier expected to complete a £23m switch to White Hart Lane imminently.
