West Brom centre-half Jonny Evans could end up at Arsenal

The centre-half could leave West Brom on deadline day, having attracted much attention.

Manchester City, Leicester and Arsenal have all pursued a move for the Northern Ireland international.

But it appears the Gunners are frontrunners to seal a deal.

According to The Sun, Evans is in talks with Arsenal to join ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.

Evans is keen on a switch to a top Premier League side.

And with West Brom holding out for £30m, Arsenal are in pole position to land the defender.

The 29-year-old has plenty of experience to offer from his Manchester United days, and has impressed at The Hawthorns too.

Leicester have seen a £23m bid rejected, while City have not come back in recently after initial interest.

The Sun add Arsene Wenger is chasing Evans, with the defender set for a hefty pay rise.

Kieran Gibbs made the reverse move from Arsenal to West Brom yesterday in a £7m transfer.

And it is said both clubs were in talks over thrashing out a deal for Evans while the Gibbs switch went on.

Shkodran Mustafi looks likely to stay now despite Inter Milan's interest, but Evans could still arrive in north London.
