Outcast Janssen failed to deliver after arriving at White Hart Lane for £17m last summer, scoring just six goals in his debut season in the Premier League.

The Dutchman was resigned to the bench for most of the season, failing to challenge Harry Kane for a starting role in Mauricio Pochettino's title-challenging side.

However, the player may get the chance to revive his career in England, with two mid-table Premier League clubs chasing his signature before tonight's 11pm transfer deadline.

According to the Daily Mail, the Holland international is the subject of a £23m bid from West Bromwich Albion, with Stoke City also keen on taking the striker on a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old only started seven games last term and looked devoid of confidence throughout his time at White Hart Lane but a move to a mid-table club may bring out the type of performance he showed at AZ Alkmaar.

Any deal for Janssen is likely to depend on Spurs' ability to complete a deal for Swansea City's Fernando Llorente.

The Spaniard is looking set to leave the Welsh outfit, with both Chelsea and Spurs battling it out for his signature before the 11pm deadline.

The 32-year-old scored 15 goals in 28 appearances for the Swans last term.
