Paul Pogba could try and bring Arsenal target Thomas Lemar to Manchester United in the future

The Gunners made a late £92m move for the Monaco winger on deadline day.

Lemar was seen as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who was set for a £60m switch to Manchester City.

But Lemar turned down the chance to sign for Arsenal while away on international duty with France.

It was claimed France trio Laurent Koscielny, Olivier Giroud and Alexandre Lacazette tried to convince their team-mate to join them at the Emirates.

However, they could not persuade the 21-year-old, who went on to then score twice last night in a 4-0 win over Holland.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba has since posted a picture of the pair on Instagram from yesterday's game.

And the superstar captioned it: "Happy with yesterday's result, working for the next goal. Proud of being blue."

But most intriguingly, he signed it off with "#AgentP".

The influential figure in United's team has dubbed himself 'Agent P' having played a key role in some deals this summer.

Pogba played a major role in getting Romelu Lukaku to snub Chelsea for United, and it was referenced again when Zlatan Ibrahimovic's return was sealed.

It appears his latest act could have been to ensure Lemar would not join Premier League rivals Arsenal.

And United fans will be hoping he can potentially help bring the Monaco star to Old Trafford in the future.

Jose Mourinho targeted a left-winger this summer but failed to land Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.

It remains to be seen if United will pursue a move for Lemar going forward, after he was chased by Arsenal and Liverpool.
