That's according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

He tweeted: “Barcelona putting all their efforts to get Angel di Maria.

“His representatives are at the Camp Nou offices #Mendes2TheRescue."

But Balague went on to suggest Barca had given up on any deal for the Argentine because of the asking price PSG had set.

He added: “Barcelona unable/unwilling to pay what PSG asking for di Maria.

“So, right now, FCB saying they won't add to the squad as market gone crazy.”

Barcelona will have to move fast to get any deal done though with the Spanish transfer deadline at 11pm this evening.

The Spanish giants are desperate to sign someone as a replacement for Neymar.

The Brazilian forward left the Nou Camp for PSG in a whopping £198m move earlier this summer.

Liverpool will be delighted to keep hold of Coutinho after he handed a transfer request into the club.
