Liverpool reportedly upped their offer for Monaco star Thomas Lemar to £82m as the transfer window drew to a close.

The France international emerged as a late target for the Reds with Philippe Coutinho’s future uncertain amid strong interest from Barcelona.

And L’Equipe claim Liverpool pushed until deadline day to try and get a deal for Lemar to head to Anfield sorted.

The French outlet say Jurgen Klopp had lodged a bid of an initial £74m, with £8m to follow in add-ons, earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have managed to keep hold of Coutinho.

The Brazilian playmaker was pursued by Barcelona following the departure of compatriot Neymar to Paris St-Germain.

And the Spanish giants made three unsuccessful offers for him - coming in at £72m, £90m and £118m respectively.

A fourth bid - and therefore a move - for Coutinho did not materialise before the La Liga transfer window closed at midnight though.

Finally, Juventus are reportedly ready to pounce for Liverpool contract rebel Emre Can.

The Germany international has entered the final 12 months of his current deal.

And Transfer Market Web claim he does not intent to put pen to paper on a fresh agreement.

Juventus are apparently waiting for him to become available, with a free transfer switch a possibility next summer.
