Dozens of celebrities, former footballers and emergency services personnel have come together at Loftus Road for a charity match to raise money for victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
With the game between Team Ferdinand and Team Shearer tightly poised at 1-1, Mourinho came on in the 60th minute for David James.
And he made his presence known within seconds.
Despite being considerably shorter than many of the players around him, the Portuguese manger leaped into the air and managed to punch the ball away.
It wasn’t long before a throng of United supporters and football fans tweeted their appreciation.
“Jose Mourinho now in goal. That's not something I expected to say today,” one said.
Another commented: “Jose Mourinho has been in goal for five minutes and is already performing better than Joe Hart this season.”
While a third wrote: “Jose in goal? Think he’s trying to take David de Gea’s position.”
