At least that’s the verdict of former Red Devils skipper Wayne Rooney, who quit Old Trafford for a return to Everton this summer.

Lukaku, 24, linked up with United in July in a deal which Starsport understands is worth an initial £75m for the Toffees.

And he’s enjoyed a blistering start to life under his old Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, scoring four goals in four competitive games to date.

Lukaku will be hoping to continue his red-hot form when United visit Mark Hughes’ Stoke this Saturday.

Rooney has now offered his take on how Lukaku will get on in Manchester.

And it’s safe to say he’s impressed by Mourinho’s big-money capture.

Rooney told talkSPORT: "For that United side, he is the perfect player.

"He is powerful, quick and strong and he scores goals, so certainly will improve that team."

United have taken maximum points from their first three games of the new season.

And they sit top of the Premier League ahead of their trip to the Bet365 Stadium.
