The former England and Manchester United captain was arrested for drink-driving last week, after being pulled over driving a VW Beetle which belonged to 29-year-old Laura Simpson, a girl he had met during the drinking session, and was driving home.
Rooney is due in court on September 18 to face charges for the drink driving, and the saga will no doubt have annoyed his boss Ronald Koeman.
The Dutchman was snapped driving into Finch Farm at 7.40am, 90 minutes before Rooney arrived.
He will hope the star striker - who has scored both of the Toffees’ goals so far this season, will be able to put the events of the past few days behind him, and focus on Saturday’s match with Tottenham.
