The Manchester United ace has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this year.

De Gea, 26, nearly joined Real in 2015 but a late fax ended any hope of a switch.

However, according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, De Gea is still working on a move to Real.

They say the stopper has asked his Spain team-mate Ramos to discuss a deal with Real boss Zidane.

Diario Gol add that the La Liga giants are desperate to sign De Gea.

Florentino Perez is a huge admirer of the former Atletico Madrid ace.

De Gea this week revealed he is honoured to play for a big club like United.

"Of course, you feel really proud when people think this about you," De Gea told MUTV.

"It’s really good, but I like to keep my focus, keep working hard and doing my best.

"To be fair, when you are really young, you don’t think about the future too much, you just want to play with your friends.

"When you get older, you start to dream about being there, about being at a top team.

"So of course it’s a dream to be at a team like Manchester United."
