That’s the verdict of former Reds ace John Aldridge ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League showdown at Anfield.

Coutinho is yet to feature for Liverpool this term off the back of his summer-long Barcelona transfer saga and supposed injury problems.

And he was left out of Jurgen Klopp’s squad for last Saturday’s 5-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad.

Coutinho had been tipped to return to first-team action as Liverpool kick off their group stage fixtures this week.

Jurgen Klopp managed to keep hold of Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho this summer

However, Aldridge believes the Brazil international will be among the substitutes for the Sevilla clash.

Discussing Klopp’s probable starting XI, Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo: "There's also Philippe Coutinho available, of course, but I think he'll be on the bench for this.

"The front three will be the same, and given that he's not had a lot of football in the last month, I'd not expect him to start just yet.

"He's more likely targeting the League Cup against Leicester for a start, but he might just be able to give us something off the bench before then."

Liverpool last faced Sevilla in May 2016’s Europa League final.

Klopp’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat to the La Liga outfit that night.
