The 19-year-old scored United’s third in their 3-0 trouncing of Basel at Old Trafford last night.

It means he has now scored in his first appearance in the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup and for England.

Speaking after the Red Devils’ impressive performance, Gerrard couldn’t help but hail the talent of the teenager.

“I think he’s very good, he’s got a huge future ahead of him,” he said.

“It’s great that he’s English, not so good he’s a Man Utd player.

“He’s got pace, he’s got everything to his game – he scores all kinds of goals.”

Rashford has also started the Premier League season strongly, scoring two goals in four appearances.

Combined with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Gerrard admitted United look exciting going forward.
