They had previously suffered seven defeats in eight games at the national stadium, and won just one game in 11.
Dortmund too had some unhappy Wembley memories heading into the game, with a 2013 Champions League final defeat to arch-rivals Bayern Munich on their sole previous visit.
And their second trip also ended in defeat as Kane and co ran out winners on Group H’s opening night.
